A Flaming Film!

Described as a 'fantastical film freakout', the sci-fi movie Christmas On Mars is the feature film directorial debut from Oklahoma psychedelic rock band The Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne. The movie tells the tale of its protagonist Major Syrtis' first Christmas on a newly-colonised Mars. Warner Music asked Dreamer to design a full page ad for the Homebake Festival Program to herald the release of the DVD & CD Special Edition.

Sydney Producer Matt Fell has worked on a multitude of major label & independent releases. Matt recently commissioned Dreamer to design & build a website to showcase the work he does at his Love Hz Studio complex. The designs were inspired by the vintage gear which is plentiful in Matt's studio & also gives a little nod to classic record production tecnhiques. Animation Antics

This month sees the completion of our Flash Animated Music Video for Greg Cooper's new haunting ballad 'I've Had It All'. This beautiful ocean adventure with an animation style reminiscent of Terry Gilliam is both thought-provoking & surreal. The clip was created using digital puppetry with over 6000 frames & 200 layers, virtually completely handmade, with hand-illustrated backgrounds & constructed cardboard props. When the deadline for the most recent edition of the Australian Music Industry Directory rolled around, SonyBMG once again asked Dreamer to design the visuals for their Music Branding Campaign highlighting the wealth of Australian Artists with the label. The final design depicts a stage fully set up for a performance with the impressive list of SonyBMG artists on the wall behind, complete with an adoring audience applauding wildly. 'Ready To Fly' the 3rd single from Amy Pearson's forthcoming album 'Who I Am' hit stores on April 5. This uplifting, soaring track was written by Amy along with Tom Nichols & Tim Baxter (Kylie Minogue, Jessica Simpson). Tania Hayes was only 22 when her fiance Warren was diagnosed with a dangerous brain tumour. 'Love Has No Limits' is the true story, in Tania's own words, of the struggles she & Warren have faced together & an account of his amazing recovery against all the odds. The team at ABC local radio asked Dreamer to Design & Art Direct packaging for a new love songs compilation titled "Just The Way You Are" after the Billy Joel classic. The collection features cuts from Norah Jones, Tony Bennett, Art Garfunkel, Nina Simone & Billy Holiday (to name a few) with a beautiful instrumental rendition of the Joel classic by Australian Jazz Pianist/Composer Judy Bailey. Matchbox Twenty's Exile

No Strangers to the charts with 28 million albums sold worldwide, Rob Thomas' Matchbox Twenty are back after a 5 year exile (hardly from the mainstream though!) with a best of 'Exile on Mainstream' due out Oct 6 & a new single 'How Far We've Come' (Produced by Steve Lillywhite-U2, Rolling Stones). Younger brother to Dreamer's Creative Director James, Greg Cooper has just finished his finely crafted (though we are a little biased) debut album 'The Four Day Weeks Of April'. As a new independent musician on the Sydney scene, Greg is getting a band together for live shows set to start late 2007 with the album's release date slated for April 2008. Matt Hutchinson & The Whiskey Go Go's continue their tour around Australia with the Vasco Era until their own 'True Love' Tour begins on July 13th. Dreamer have designed this A2 Cafe poster to promote their debut album. The first Paramore single "Misery Business" hits the airwaves this week. But they have already had over 2.2 million plays on Purevolume.com, 3.5 million plays of their video on YouTube & sold out shows across the US & UK. The album "Riot" is out Aug 25. Warner Music Australia approached Dreamer to Design & Art Direct the debut effort from new Melbourne signing, The Whiskey Go Go's. With photography by Warwick Baker (Sarah Blasko, Art of Fighting, Children Collide) & Liz Looker the album's visual style harks back to the late 60's. Led by charistmatic front man Matt Hutchinson, the album blends rock with a southern American blues sound with Harp to boot. Check out the whiskeys touring nationally in June/July.

Triple J darlings Plastic Palace Alice's stunning debut single 'Empire Falls' has been all over the airwaves since being unearthed by the youth network last month. The Melbourne based six piece fuse art rock decadence with melodic hooks. With their debut album just completed & produced by Jonathan Burnside (Sleepy Jackson) Dreamer has created an album sampler based on a 1934 'Melbourne Sun' photograph. ABC Music/Warner Music's new signing is country/folk artist Karl Broadie. Dreamer has designed the physical & digital packaging for Karl's 3rd album 'One Million Emeralds'. Dreamer worked closely with Illustrator Simone Pain to create a tactile & organic look for the album. Photography was also by Simone. 'One Million Emeralds' was produced by Matt Fell & features guests including Bill Chambers, Melanie Horsnell & Brendan Gallagher. The album is released nationally on July 7th. Trick Of The Light

Singer/Songwriter from Australian 80's pop outfits the Innocents & the RCA signed Affections, Rob Smith, has commissioned Dreamer to create album packaging & design for his 3rd solo release 'Trick Of The Light'. Photography is by James Cooper exploring a variety of time-lapse techniques to reflect the album's title. Several portrait style set-ups have also been employed. Design is currently being completed at Dreamer while a US/Australian release is planned for later in the year.

Glen Schollum, of new music production company Schollum City, now has a new brand. Designed by Dreamer to help launch their new studio premises & based on an initial sketch by Glen of a dark & gloomy city, the new ident lightens up the city scape. We employed a paper illustration technique, lit & photographed at Dreamer's Inner West Studio. A temporary website has also been created. Glen has produced for Ministry of Sound, Steve Prestwich (Cold Chisel) and Jade McCrae.

Blue Mountains based songstress Clare Gabriel has just put the finishing touches to her outstanding debut album 'Peace of Mind' produced by Matt Fell (Troy Cassar-Daley & Slim Dusty). Clare asked Dreamer for a test shoot to revolve around her upcoming album. As part of the shoot some album visuals were designed which you can see in the Design section of our site. The brief was to create a logo that was not only a strong visual representation of the product, instantly recognisable to the consumer but which would also emphasise the superior quality of this brand compared with its competitors.

Erik Elektro Character Design

Dreamer was commissioned by Australian expat, now Californian-based animation producer, Damian Allen to create the look and feel of Erik Elektro. Erik will be the lead character in a new children's animated TV series pitched for the US market.
